Call to follow Bulleh Shah
KASUR: Indian Rajya Sabha member Nirmala Desh Panday, World Punjabi Forum Chairman Fakhar-uz-Zaman and other Indian delegates on Saturday attended a seminar organised by the Bulleh Shah International Forum on the eve of the late Shah’s 257th annual Urs in Kasur.
Ms Panday said serving humanity was the late Shah’s integral message. She said extremists in both countries had committed enough killings in the name of religion, and the factors that led to these killings were the real enemies of prosperity and progress of the poor.
Ms Panday said politicians in both countries were selfish. “War is not the solution to any problem and if we want to make this world peaceful, we will have to stop the killings by acting upon the message of Baba Bulleh Shah,” she added.
In his speech, Mr Zaman said that both countries should fight against terrorism, poverty and hunger. “The massage of Baba Bulleh Shah invites us to look at ourselves and think what we have done to remove ignorance and hatred from our societies. staff report
