WAPDA and PEMRA get LHC notice

LAHORE: Justice Ali Nawaz Chowhan of the Lahore High Court issued notices to WAPDA and the PEMRA on Monday on a petition against cable operators.

ZU Khan filed a petition demanding that TV cables be removed from WAPDA poles because they violated the Electricity Act of 1910, PEMRA Rules and Regulation of 2002 and the Telephone and Telegram Act of 1885.

He contended that under Section 32 of the Electricity Act, power poles could not be used for carrying cables other than those needed for power transmission. staff report
