Heavy snow blocks Khunjerab Pass

GILGIT: Heavy snowfall coupled with light rain in the upper Hunza valley on Tuesday sealed the Khunjerab Pass on the Pakistan-China border, preventing trade convoys from China from reaching the Pakistani border town of Sust.

Official sources said most of the Northern Areas received heavy snow on Tuesday and even the low-lying areas of Gilgit district received snowfall as temperatures dropped below freezing point. app
