PRCS to send relief goods to quake victims
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) is to send its first consignment of relief items to those affected by the earthquake and tidal waves in Sri Lanka.
The decision was taken at a PRCS meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Jahan Dad Khan, PRCS chairman.
At the meeting, it was decided that the first consignment of relief items would include tents, blankets and food. It was also decided that the PRCS would set up two relief camps, one each at the national headquarters and chief commissioner’s office respectively, to receive public donations.
The meeting was told that all provincial branches had been directed to set up relief camps for the collection of donations. The PRCS chairman expressed grief and sympathy with the disaster victims. online
