Ajoka returns from India today
LAHORE: A 26-member Ajoka theatre team will return today (Saturday) after a 15-day tour of the Indian Punjab. The team that crossed the Wagah border on November 14 performed in Amritsar, Jallandhar, Patiala, Chandigarh, Faridkot, Malir, Kotla, Dudhike and Ludhiana. Ajoka was the first Pakistani theatre group that toured the Indian Punjab. The theatrical group performed its well-known play Bullah during the tour. The play received packed houses and standing ovations everywhere, an Ajoka press release said on Friday. Qawal Javed Bashir and his companions, who were part of the Ajoka team, gave Qawali performances, including a special Eid performance at Faridkot, a Muslim majority town in the Indian Punjab. —Staff Report
