Seminar on moon-sighting
PESHAWAR: North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that his government had decided to hold a seminar to settle the moon-sighting issue once and for all. During exchange of eid greetings on Thursday, he said, “Moon-sighting has become a contentious issue which has crossed all bounds and paralysed social and religious life of Pakistani Muslims.” To settle the issue, the CM added, his government would hold a seminar to be attended by religious scholars, astronomers, intellectuals and journalists to resolve the issue. —Staff Report
