UET inspecting Sozo Water Park rides

LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) is examining all 22 Sozo Water Park rides and the park will resume operations by the first week of February, said Sohail Lashari, the Sozo Water Park director.

Talking to reporters on Friday, Lashari said that about 90 percent of the inspection had been completed to ascertain whether or not rides were worthy of operation.

The city district government had closed all recreational parks after the early December collapse of a ride at Sozo Water Park, in which a female teacher and three girls had died.

“We will submit a fitness certificate before resuming operation,” Lashari added. He said that other recreational parks of the city were also getting their rides inspected from UET. app
