Jehangir Badar’s case adjourned
LAHORE: Proceedings in an illegal assets case against Jehangir Badar, Pakistan People’s Party leader, were adjourned until September 6 because defence counsel did not show up. The assets include shares in Bakhtawar Hotel, Dubai Hotel, International Hotel, National Tourism Hostel in Lahore, a gas station in Virginia, a factory on Bund Road, Usman Plaza, Lahore Hotel on McLeod Road and Butt Plaza in Badami Bagh. He also owns two houses in Allama Iqbal Town worth Rs 20m, an under-construction house in Raiwind and a two-kanal commercial plot near Thokar Niaz Baig.
Mushtaq Awan: The case against Awan, former provincial minister, were adjourned until September 29 because the Lahore High Court has issued an injunction to stop proceedings. Awan is accused of accepting bribes in granting a toll tax contract. staff report
