Woman’s body found in canal

LAHORE: A woman’s body was found in the canal in Muslim Town police precincts. A passer-by informed the police of the body.

The police suspect that the 35-year-old woman was killed after being raped. However, the police said that an autopsy report would reveal the facts. They said that the woman’s hands were tied and the head was covered with a plastic bag. A case was registered and the body was sent for autopsy.

Nazim-elect, sister injured in attack:A nazim-elect and his sister were injured in an armed attack in Green Town police jurisdiction. Supporters of a rival candidate attacked Dr Liaqat at his house in Bagrian Chowl. As a result, Liaqat and his sister Nagina were seriously injured. They were taken to Jinnah Hospital where their condition is stated to be critical.

Man found dead: A young man got his throat slit in Burki police jurisdiction. Muhammad Dilshad, 25, was found dead with his throat slit at his house in the Laila Sinh area. The deceased was a resident of Kasur. The body was sent for autopsy.

Youth shot dead: A youth was shot dead in a minor dispute in Raiwind police jurisdiction. Nasir Mehmood, 21, had a quarrel with Abdullah Jabbar alias Jara. Jara shot him and fled. Police sent the body for autopsy.

Retired army personal dies in accident: A middle-aged retired army personal lost his life in an accident in Naulakha police jurisdiction.

Police said that Muhammad Qasim, a resident of Rawalpindi, came to visit a relative in Badamibagh. He was going back in a rickshaw, which overturned due to over-speeding on Circular Road. As a result Qasim sustained injuries and died on his way to hospital.

A father of five lost his life in an accident in Shadbagh police jurisdiction. Liaqat Ali was a worker at a godown on Bund Road. He was crossing Bund Road when a speeding truck ran into him. He was taken to Mayo Hospital but died after initial treatment.

Man commits suicide: A young man committed suicide in Factory Area police jurisdiction. Aslam, 25, had been unemployed for a long time and was therefore upset.

He took poison and was taken to Mayo Hospital where he died. The body was given to the family without autopsy.

Bodies found: The body of an unidentified man was found in Lower Mall police jurisdiction.

A duty officer said that a passerby informed the police that a body of a middle-aged man was lying near Data Darbar Chowk. They body was sent to a morgue for autopsy. Another body of an unidentified middle-aged man was found in Bhatti police jurisdiction. A passerby informed the police that an unidentified body was lying at a roadside. Police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy.
