Hailstorm turns weather pleasant
LAHORE: It hailed and rained late in the afternoon on Saturday inundating roads and streets in the city. Met Office chief Shaukat Awan told Daily Times that Saturday’s rainstorm was caused by westerly winds blowing across the Northern Areas. Around 11 millimeters of rain was recorded in the city, he said. He said that although this was not part of the monsoon current, light to moderate rain was expected in the coming days. Met Office has forecast more rain for the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature recorded was 34 degrees and the minimum was 23. As the weather changed its mood, children roamed the sloppy roads of the city. The rain also caused a few traffic accidents. staff report
