Joint candidate claims support of elected representatives

PESHAWAR: Haji Ghulam Ali, the PPPP, JUI-F and PPP-S joint candidate for the district nazim, claimed the support of 60 percent of the elected nazims and councilors in the area. Ghulam Ali said that neither the federal nor the provincial government supported Jamaat Islami backed Haroon Bilour. He said that he was expecting more elected representatives to announce their support for his bid for the district nazim seat. He said that the JUI-F would be fielding its candidate for the district nazim Peshawar and town 4, while the rest of the nazim seats would be contested by PPPP nominees in the three towns.
