Siemens plans manufacturing unit in Karachi

KARACHI: Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company Limited has planned to build a new 220kv power transformer manufacturing unit in Karachi.

According to a press release issued on Friday by the company the unveiling of the foundation plaque for the project was performed by Dr Ishratul Ibad, Sindh governor.

Dr Klaus Wucherer, member of the corporate executive committee and member managing board of the company, said the company was willing to invest and enlarge its stake in Pakistan.

Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui, managing director Siemens Pakistan, said the project reflects company’s confidence in the economic environment of Pakistan and trust in the policies being pursued by the present government. staff report
