Inspection routine matter, says SEC

KARACHI: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan on Friday said that the inspection of brokerage houses was being conducted as a annual routine mater.

The impression created in the media relating to issuance of notices to brokerage houses for inspection of data of the last five years was not correct.

The spokesman SECP in a statement issued on Friday said that certain newspapers and television channels reported that the SEC issued notices to brokerage houses for inspection of data of the last five years. In fact, the inspection, as it is normally conducted for the period covering less than a year.
