Benazir asks workers not to self-immolate

ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto has asked party workers not to resort to extreme steps like self-immolation in protest against the policies of the regime. She made this appeal in a statement issued on Tuesday after some party workers in the Shikarpur district threatened to commit self-immolation last Wednesday to protest cases against Benazir and the continued incarceration of her spouse Asif Zardari for the last eight years. —Staff Report
