MMA calls for rallies on Kashmir Day
ISLAMABAD: The leaders of the six-party alliance Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has directed its workers to highlight the issue of the debriefings of the nuclear scientists during public gatherings throughout the country on Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5. “The leadership also decided that the scientists’ relatives would be given time to speak on this issue during the public gatherings and protest rallies,” MMA sources said. The MMA is also contemplating a sit-in in Islamabad if the scientists are still held by the government, the sources said. The MMA would become more pro-active if the government brings Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan into the debriefing process, the sources said. The MMA leadership is also interested in the cases of Dr Amir and Dr Khawajah, who were investigated on Al Qaeda charges but were later relieved, the sources said. —Mohammad Imran
