Inter-collegiate competitions begin at QMC
LAHORE: The Queen Mary College (QMC) started its week-long extracurricular activities and inter-college competitions with English debates and a fancy dress show on Tuesday.
The trophy was won by the Government College for Women, Sargodha. Roma Rao from the Government College (GC), Sargodha; Asma Shehzadi from GC, Karkhana Bazaar, Faisalabad and Durr-e-Shahwar from the Government College Waqarun Nisa College, Rawalpindi secured the top three positions in the English debate. A consolation prize was given to Huda Abid from the Lahore College for Women’s University.
Earlier, Hafiza Qaria Saima from GC, Karkhana Bazaar, Faisalabad; Huma Zafar from APWA College, Lahore; Rabia Tooba from GC, Band Road, Lahore and Azra Nasim from GC, Sargodha took home the first three positions in the Quran reciting competition.
Nadia Aslam from GC, Madina Town, Faisalabad; Nighat Asma from GC, Sheikhupura; Sanam Akhtar from GC, Bilal Ganj, Lahore and Maisa Naseer from the Government Home Economics College, Lahore bagged the top positions in the Na’at competition. —Staff Report
