‘Exports would reach $11b in 2003’
ISLAMABAD : Humayun Akhtar Khan, Minister for Commerce and Industry said that Pakistan’s exports are expected to reach $11 billion in the current financial year.
He said that President Pervez Musharraf and senior government officials will see-off the export container in Karachi early next month that will raise the size of exports to 10 billion dollars.
He said in first 10 months of current fiscal year, exports have marked $1.55 billion increase, reaching $8.85 billion. In the same period last year, exports amounted to $7.32 billion.
The ministers said in 2003 exports are expected to attract 1.8 billion dollars more over the last fiscal. In 2002 exports amounted to $9.2 billion. —ENN
