Solid waste dumping sites a must for housing societies

LAHORE: Plans for the construction of private residential societies will not be approved until the planners allocate space for solid waste dumping, said Mian Amer Mahmood, district nazim. “All private residential societies, including those already established, will require a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD),” he said on Tuesday during a meeting with the city administration at Jinnah Hall. Mahmood ordered Rafique Jatoi, SWM district officer (DO), to submit the department’s performance report within a week.
