‘Govt to promote Punjabi heritage’

LAHORE: World Punjabi Conference (WPC) Chairman Fakhar Zaman has said the government should construct a tomb for Dullah Bhatti.
He was speaking at the 414th martyrdom anniversary of freedom fighter Dullah Bhatti, who laid down his life fighting against anti Islamic forces on March 26, 1589.
Minister for Culture and Youth Affairs Shaukat Ali Bhatti, who was also present in the function said, “A committee has been formed to review the construction of the tomb and to promote the Punjabi heritage.”
Dullah Bhatti Academy (DBA) Chairman Bashir Hussain Bhatti and other speakers said the government should give the same status to Punjabi heroes as was given to other heroes of the country.
