ARD moves to amend govt-MMA bill

ISLAMABAD: The Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) has moved seven amendments to the proposed constitutional am endment bill presented before the National Assembly (NA) on Friday, and decided to participate in the house proceedings during the debate and voting on the bill.
In the meeting after the bill presentation and discussion, it was decided to participate in the proceedings and move amendments to the proposed bill.
The ARD has moved amendments on all the Articles envisaged to be amended by the proposed bill. Meanwhile, the ARD also decided to hold meeting of the heads of its component parties on December 28 to discuss the situation arising out of the government-Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal agreement and the constitutional amendment bill. ARD Chairman Makhdoom Amin Fahim will preside over the meeting to be held at the Pakistan People’s Party Central Secretariat. PPP Central Executive Committee will meet on January 2 at the same venue to firm up the party policy on the prevailing political situation.
