JI chief talks of MMA victory over government

PESHAWAR: North West Frontier Province Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has described the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and the government agreement on the Legal Framework Order (LFO) as a victory for the MMA.
Speaking to a gathering at Karak, Mr Khan said the country was under dictatorship which was dangerous for the parliament and the democracy.
Mr Khan said restoration of the constitution and democracy was an historic deed by the MMA, whose leadership deserved to be appreciated. The JI leader underlined the need for a strong Pakistan, as the country was confronting dangers from all sides.
Mr Khan said the MMA leadership signed the agreement keeping in view the country’s interests and it would lead to strengthen democracy and country’s development. Mr Khan said the six-party religious alliance had rid the nation of sectarian prejudices. He said the MMA wanted Pakistan as an Islamic democratic state.
