Lawyers to protest today

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) in collaboration with the High Court bar and district bars of Rawalpindi and Islamabad will stage a demonstration on Friday (today) to protest the ongoing military operation in Wana, South Waziristan. “The situation is very alarming because the military is being pitted against tribesmen. Both sides have suffered casualties,” said SCBA Vice President Chaudhry Muhammad Ikram. Lawyers belonging to different bars will also hold demonstrations in their respective districts, said Mr Ikram. —Staff Report
