Govt warns spurious drug dealers of tough action
LAHORE: The Punjab government has warned owners of medical stores in Punjab of strict action if found involved in selling fake or spurious medicines.
“The government will act against all those found involved in the sale of fake or spurious drugs,” Punjab Revenue Minister Gul Hameed Rokhri said at the opening of a daylong tuberculosis (TB) camp at the Mianwali District Headquarters Hospital on Thursday, according to a handout.
The camp was organised by the Punjab Health Department in connection with International Day for Tuberculosis. The minister led a walk to create awareness among people about TB. The participants were informed that there were 2,500 registered TB patients in Mianwali, while the total number of such patients in Pakistan was 2.5 million.
The minister said that Mianwali district would be included in the government programme to rid it of this disease. —APP
