Plea against Qadeer’s detention sent to Lahore

ISLAMABAD: Lahore High Court’s (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench on Wednesday sent the intra-court petition against Dr AQ Khan’s detention to the LHC’s principal seat.

The bench consisted of Justices Maulvi Anwarul Haq and Mansoor Ahmed. Justice Ahmed had earlier dismissed the petitioners’ objections against the government’s rejoinder. The bench also said the FIR registered against Maj (r) Islamul Haq was not admissible and asked the petitioner’s counsel to complete the procedure in this regard and approach the district and sessions judge. The court said a copy of the application that had been given to the area magistrate and the magistrate’s directives on the application should be attached to the petition. —Staff Report
