Accused in Indian mission case gets bail

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Syed Ali Baqar Naqvi in the case of illegal occupation of a building once housing the Indian Deputy High Commission in Karachi.
The occupation made headlines in newspaper late last year when Naqvi filed a suit against alleged police harassment, claiming he had bought the property.
After the court verdict, the head of the Indian Chancellery, R K Sharma lodged a complaint with Boat Basin police station against Naqvi, Jiva, Mohammad Yousuf, Mohammad Ibrahim and Mohammad Abbas under Sections 420, 448, 467, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for preparing fake documents in order to stake claims to the property that is still owned by the Indian government.
