20 die as two buses collide near Sukkur

SUKKUR: At least 20 people were killed and 60 were injured when two passenger buses collided with each other in the Seveen area near Sukkur district late on Saturday.

An eyewitness said that most victims’ bodies were charred and were beyond recognition. Another eyewitness said that a bus coming from Seveen collided with another passenger bus coming from the opposite direction, when it tried to overtake a tractor. “The accident was the result of over speeding and drivers’ negligence,” he stated.

Rescue teams reached the scene and pulled bodies out of the buses.

The injured were transferred to a hospital in Jamsoro. Most of them were stated to be in a critical condition. Traffic on the road was also paralysed. online
