Nationalists reject parliamentary committee report
MULTAN: Balochistan’s nationalist parties and the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) have rejected the report of the parliamentary committee on Balochistan headed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, terming it illogical, biased, and unrealistic, Rauf Khan Sasoli, the central deputy secretary general of the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), said on Saturday. Talking to reporters in Multan on phone, Sasoli said the report on development package for Balochistan in the Senate was presented on Wednesday while the other subcommittee on constitutional package headed by Senator Wasim Sajjad had yet to finalise its report. “Major stakeholders in Balochistan have boycotted the parliamentary committee proceedings,” Sasoli added. The JWP official said that the unjust policies of the government had ruined the country economically and a sense of deprivation was increasing in the people of Balochistan. “We only demand the government give us parity in the distribution of our resources as given to Punjab and Sindh,” he said. “We have reservations about the report, but the final decision would be taken after the complete report is submitted.” staff report
