Sanda SHO suspended
LAHORE: City Police Chief (CPC) Tariq Saleem Doggar has suspended Nauman Habib, station house officer (SHO) of Sanda police station, for refusing to register a case and Sub-Inspector (SI) Muhammad Akram of Sanda police station for implicating a citizen in a false case.
The SHO did not register a case on a female MPA’s complaint. Similarly, the SI implicated a man, Riaz, in a false narcotics case and detained him illegally. The inquiry showed that the charges were true and the CPC suspended both police officials.
Robberies: Three robbers entered Muhammad Iqbal’s house in Defence Housing Authority and held the family at gunpoint. They looted cash, jewellery and valuables worth Rs 500,000 and were trying to escape when Iqbal’s son resisted them. They shot injured him and fled.
