Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf on Sunday expressed grief and sorrow over a devastating earthquake in Iran, which killed at least 230 people.
“We, in Pakistan, are deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the loss of many precious lives and property caused by the tragic earthquake which struck northern and western parts of Iran,” he said in a message to Iranian President Mohammad Khatami. “We share your grief and sorrow at this tragedy,” Musharraf said while conveying his sympathies to the president and the people of Iran over the destruction caused by the quake.
