Imtiaz removed as Sindh PML secretary general
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League (PML) leadership on Monday removed Imtiaz Sheikh, Sindh PML secretary general, from office to resolve the crisis in the party’s provincial organisation.
In order to compensate Imtiaz, the party gave him the office of senior vice president in the central organisation. Nadir Akmal Leghari, Sindh’s irrigation minister, was appointed the new Sindh PML secretary general. However, an official announcement by the party regarding Akmal Leghari’s appointment stated that Imtiaz had “resigned in the larger interest of the PML”. The PML president and secretary general told reporters that the decision was taken on the recommendation of Arbab Ghulam Rahim. Imtiaz told Daily Times that he had accepted the party leadership’s decision.
