Bush will meet Muslim states head
WASHINGTON: United States President George W Bush will this week meet Muslim leaders playing a key role in his “war on terror” and trying to spread democracy. Bush started the meetings with Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Monday, sealing what he called a “strategic partnership” allowing for increased political, economic and security ties. On Wednesday, he will meet Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and on Thursday, Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas will visit the White House. Laura Bush will also be ending a tour of Jordan, Israel and Egypt to promote women’s empowerment and, in her husband’s words, “help advance the freedom agenda”.afp
