AJK PM gives awards to teachers
ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Old Boys Association of Gordon College, headed by Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, was held in the Kashmir House on Sunday.
The meeting unanimously adopted a resolution demanding the Punjab government grant autonomy to Gordon College Rawalpindi and constitute a board of governors for its managements.
In his address, Mr Khan paid tributes to the college. He presented shields to teachers including Dr R Stewart, Dr Raees Ahmed Khan and Prof Khawaja Masud.
The representatives of the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan received the shields on behalf of Dr Stewart and Dr Chunnings.
The prime minister also donated gold medals which would be awarded every year to outstanding students of the college.
Old Gordonians attending the meeting included North West Frontier Province Governor Lt Gen Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, Federal Ministers Shaukat Aziz and Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. —NNI
