Khosa condemns war on Iraq
LAHORE: Punjab Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa said on Sunday Pakistan was created in the name of Islam, and those who said “Pakistan first” were against the principals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
“Pakistan is an atomic power and can bring all Islamic countries out of crisis,”said Mr Khosa while speaking at a flag hoisting ceremony at the parties provincial secretariat.
He credited former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan an explicit nuclear power despite tremendous foreign pressure.
Mr Khosa said nobody could dare to hurt Pakistan because in a time of crisis the entire nation would rally behind the brave armed forces for the defence of the country.
He condemned the heavy bombardment by allied forces in Iraq and urged the United Nations and international human rights organisations to take notice of the bombing of civilians in Baghdad. He also pleaded to the heads of Islamic countries to adopt a common strategy to save Iraq from destruction.
Later, the participants of the flag hoisting ceremony prayed for the martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 wars. They offered special prayers for the victory of Iraq and prosperity of Pakistan.
