‘Foreigners will get full security’

ISLAMABAD: Foreign businessmen in Pakistan will be provided with full security cover, said Interior Minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat on Thursday, attending a banquet given in his honour by United Arab Emirates (UAE) Higher Education Minister Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Abu Dhabi Interior Ministry Under Secretary Shaikh Saif Bin Zayad Al Nahyan. Mr Hayat and Mr Nahyan talked of regional security issues with reference to the situation in Afghanistan.

They agreed to increase cooperation on security. The interior minister conveyed good wishes from President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to his hosts.

He also congratulated the UAE dignitaries on the successful operation of UAE President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahayan. Mr Hayat also invited his hosts to visit Pakistan.

A number of renowned sheikhs, leading businessmen, senior civil and military bureaucrats and prominent Pakistanis in the UAE, including Ambassador Air Marshal (r) Qaiser Shah attended the gathering. —APP
