US lawmaker praises Pakistan’s support for war on terror
WASHINGTON: Republican Congressman Bob Bishop on Thursday praised Pakistan’s help and support in the ongoing war on terror.
During a meeting with Ambassador Ashraf Jehangir Qazi at Capitol Hill, the bishop stressed the need to expand the Pakistan-US economic cooperation in the mutual interest of both the countries. He expressed his satisfaction over the growing Pakistan-US relationship, which he hoped would consolidate further with time. During the call on, Ambassador Qazi briefed the congressman on key developments pertaining to Pak-US relations, the war on terror, non-proliferation, Pakistan-India relations, President General Pervez Musharraf’s vision for enlightened moderation, and rejection of extremism. —Agencies
