SC adjourns human smuggling case
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court directed the federal standing counsel on Tuesday to submit complete records within two days in a human smuggling case against a travel agent.
The supreme court bench summoned the records in connection with the bail application of Malik Bashiruddin.
Three people were taken off a Toronto-bound plane at the Lahore airport. They possessed fake documents. They told FIA officials that they had each given Mr Bashiruddin Rs 1.2 million to Rs 1.5 million for fake travel documents. Consequently, Mr Bashiruddin was arrested. His bail application has already been rejected by the trial court and the high court. The SC admonished Federal Standing Counsel Naheeda Mahboob Illahi for not being prepared and adjourned proceedings till Thursday. staff report
