Hayat discusses security with Singaporean, Turkish officials

ISLAMABAD: A Singaporean delegation headed by Home Minister Wong Kan Seng on Tuesday visited Interior Minister Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat to discuss a wide range of ongoing issues of mutual interest.
The visiting delegates told Mr Hayat that they were also facing terrorism.
Mr Hayat said that Pakistan was currently facing a host of problems and the present government was committed to fighting terrorism and the menace of drug trafficking.
The visiting delegation said Singapore’s government shared the Pakistan government’s stance on several issues and was eager to cooperate on these problems. The visit of the delegation helped increase mutual understanding, they said.
The Singaporean home minister invited Interior Minister Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat to visit Singapore.
Both sides agreed to speed up signing an agreement on terrorism to strengthen ties. Meanwhile, Turkish Ambassador Hasan Kamal called on Interior Minister Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat.
It was decided that the signing of the security agencies protocol between Turkey and Pakistan would be expedited.
The Turkish envoy praised Pakistani government’s policies against terrorism and drug trafficking.
