Amjad Aziz arrested

LAHORE: Former Muslim League-Nawaz MPA Sheikh Amjad Aziz was arrested on Tuesday after an anti-corruption court refused to extend his interim bail.

Mr Aziz was granted bail on April 14 after he was accused of using a counterfeit graduation degree to qualify to stand for the PP-156 Lahore seat in the 2002 general elections. He went on to defeat his Quaid League rival Haroon Akhtar Khan, the brother of Federal Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan, and became an MPA. staff report
