3 Taxila hospital attackers given death sentence
RAWALPINDI: Anti-terrorist court Judge Manzoor Ahmed Mirza on Thursday gave capital punishment to the three of six attackers of a Church mission hospital in Taxila with a fine of Rs 100,000 each.
The court ordered that the accused must be hanged until death four times. If unable to pay the fine, they will undergo a rigorous imprisonment.
In 2002, they threw hand-grenades at a Christian missionary hospital in Taxila, killing four on the spot and injuring another 25. Those who were sentenced are Abu Bakr, Saifur Rehamn and Ayaz.
The three accused, Raza, Sabir and Taufeeq, were acquitted due to lack of evidence. —NNI
