Mehr leaves for Islamabad to meet Shujaat

Staff Report

KARACHI: Sindh chief minister Ali Mohammed Mehr and population welfare minister Imtiaz Shaikh left for Islamabad on Thursday to meet PML president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Official sources told the Daily Times that the party chief had called a meeting in Islamabad on Friday to discuss the ongoing confrontation between the chief minister and dissident PML MPAs, including two ministers.

The PML parliamentary party leader in the Sindh Assembly, Altaf Husain Unar, and other disgruntled party legislators would leave for the federal capital on Friday morning, a spokesman for the Unar House said.

The sources said besides Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain some other important personalities having influence in power corridors would also attend the meeting and discuss ways to resolve the controversy.
