‘N-scientists’ debriefing should not be politicised’
By Azizullah Khan
QUETTA: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali said on Thursday that the debriefing of the nuclear scientists was initiated in the national interest and should not be made into controversy.
Talking to journalists during his visit to the Balochistan Assembly, the prime minister said the government had the authority as well as skill to handle the issue. He said concern about the nuclear scientists was misplaced because the government did not have a personal grudge against anyone.
About the return of former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto, he said their exile was self-imposed and there was no ban on their return. “If they return and face charges in court, the government will have no objection,” Mr Jamali said. He said his government had not registered any case against the former prime ministers, in fact they had registered cases against each other when they were in power.
Commenting on the National Finance Commission (NFC) award, the prime minister said reservations by the provinces would be removed. He said the NFC award would end the financial crisis in all the provinces. He said the finance minister was consulting the provincial finance ministers for the NFC award.
