Rawalpindi TMA to crack down on illegal housing ads
RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) will next week take action against housing societies found guilty of issuing illegal advertisements, said Qazi Attaur Rehman, a TMA spokesman, in a press release issued on Friday. He said the action would also be taken through the directorate of public relations. He said only those societies could give ads that had submitted their cases for approval in accordance with the law and that the administration would issue no-objection certificates (NoCs) to such societies to publish ads. He said the administration had issued an NoC to Baharia Town Phases 1 and 2 while the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) had issued an NoC to Safari Villas and the Defence Housing Authority. These societies will have to fulfil legal requirements for extension. The spokesman said the TMA and the RDA had begun action against illegal societies. He said the TMA would seek help from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Rawalpindi Station Commander to close the offices of illegal societies located in Islamabad or Rawalpindi Cantonment Board, like the CDA had sought such help. pr
