Kashmir bus may be stopped if freedom struggle ignored: Sikandar
ISLAMABAD: Welcoming President Musharraf’s statement on Friday in which he floated the option of demilitarising Kashmir to give more autonomy to Kashmiris, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat said on Saturday that the trans-Kashmir bus service could be closed if India continued to grind its axe under its (bus service’s) pretext.
Talking to a private TV channel, Sardar Sikandar said that a sizable number of Kashmiris feared that India might use the bus service as an excuse for delaying the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. Meanwhile, responding to a resolution tabled in the AJK Legislative Assembly by Gulzar Fatima, a member of the opposition, Sardar Sikandar said that the Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service was a good omen for Kashmiris, however if it came in the way of the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle, it would be stopped. online
