4 die in blasts in Myanmar town
YANGON: A series of explosions rocked a Myanmar town close to the Thai border on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, killing at least four people, officials said.
Thai officials told Reuters there had been six explosions in the trading town of Tachilek, 500 km east of capital Yangon. Colonel Hla Min, spokesman for Myanmar’s military junta, said that two civilians and two policemen died in explosions at four different sites in the town.
He blamed the blasts on the rebel Shan State Army. —Reuters
