Hearing against former CBR director adjourned

ISLAMABAD: Accountability courts on Wednesday adjourned the proceedings of various corruption cases against government officials.

AC Judge Mumtaz Gillani adjourned the hearing of a corruption case against former director of Central Board of Revenue Mazhar Anwar Norani and his wife Surriya Noorani till May 31. The court recorded the testimony of three witnesses. Judge of Accountability court No 2 Mansoor Ali Khan put off proceedings in the corruption reference against former CDA chairman Shafi Sehwani till June 5. A witness, Waheed Hussain, recorded his testimony on Wednesday.

The hearing of the corruption and abuse of power reference against former senior officers of the National Transport Research Council, Sadiq Ali Sawati and Abdul Majeed, was adjourned till June 5 in Accountability Court No 3. —Staff Report
