Akram’s interim bail confirmed
KARACHI Sindh High Court Justice Syed Zawwar Hussain Jaffery on Wednesday confirmed interim bail granted to Waseem Akram, former fast bowler and captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, in a fraud case.
Mr Akram was facing trial in a case of fraudulently misappropriating of a vehicle.
According to a complaint lodged by Saadat, Mr Akram borrowed his Nayador jeep but later took it to Lahore and allegedly sold the vehicle and refused to return it or pay it when such demands were made by Saadat.
Mr Akram in response to a non-bailable arrest warrant appeared in a sessions court, which allowed him interim bail but later rejected his bail application. He then applied for bail to the Sindh High Court which allowed him a bail bond for Rs 100,000. app
