‘Pak-Indo teams showing true sportsmanship’
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, said on Sunday that the ongoing Pakistan-India cricket series was being contested in the true spirit of the game and people around the globe have been enjoying their sportsmanship.
Talking to newsmen at Gadaffi stadium during the fourth one day international, he said, the series is being played in a peaceful manner, which has proved that the law and order situation in Pakistan is ideal for elite sporting events.
Federal Minister for Interior, Faisal Saleh Hayat, said the security has also been provided for Indian fans, who poured across the border. “We made good arrangements to look after the Indian spectators,” he said. Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz said the ongoing series would foster friendly ties between the two countries. —APP
