Special Indian visa offices for cricket fans

ISLAMABAD: The India High Commission said on Monday it would open special visa offices in Lahore and Karachi to process applications of thousands of fans who want to travel across the border for a historic cricket tour. “The High Commission has put in place arrangements to facilitate timely issuance of visas to those desirous of witnessing cricket matches in India,” an embassy statement said. The Indian High Commission will open two special counters in the Visa Section of the High Commission from February 24. These counters will remain open for the duration of the cricket series and will function from ten in the morning to two in the afternoon five days a week — Monday through Friday. Applicants can collect their passports the following day between three in the afternoon to five in the morning. Those applying on Friday can collect passports on Saturday between noon to two in the afternoon. Two visa camps will be opened in Lahore. The dates for the first visa camp in Lahore are Feb 25 to 27 from ten in the morning to two in the afternoon at the Gadaffi Stadium. A second visa camp will be opened in Lahore in the second half of March. agencies
