PCB revises probables list for India’s tour

LAHORE: Pakistan’s cricket selectors have revised the probables list in view of the change in the format of the forthcoming series between Pakistan and India.

The selectors have released Bazid Khan, Faisal Iqbal, Asim Kamal and Shadab Kabir and have instructed them to play in domestic first class matches. They have been replaced by Shahid Afridi, Saleem Elahi, Imran Nazir and Naveed Latif. The training camp will begin at Lahore from February 24 while the team for the one-day internationals will be announced in the first week of March.

Speaking on the occasion, selection committee chairman Wasim Bari said: “Shoaib Akhtar and Saqlain Mushtaq have been allowed to appear in the Quaid-i-Azam Cup and Trophy matches starting from Sunday (today). They will join the camp after the completion of the matches.”

“Pacemen Mohammad Khalil and Zahid Saeed will attend the training camp from February 27 and will provide practice to Pakistan batters against left-arm fast bowling,” the chief selector said.

Probables: Inzamamul Haq (captain), Imran Farhat, Taufeeq Umar, Yasir Hameed, Yousuf Youhana, Shahid Afridi, Imran Nazir, Naveed Latif, Saleem Elahi, Misbahul Haq, Younis Khan, Abdul Razzaq, Shoaib Malik, Saqlain Mushtaq, Danish Kaneria, Moin Khan (wicketkeeper), Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami, Shabbir Ahmed, Umar Gul, Rana Naveedul Hasan and Rao Iftikhar.
