PBF proposes Friendship Cup Bridge with India
KARACHI: The Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF) has proposed to its Indian counterpart to play a two-day Friendship Cup in Lahore on August 14 and 15, PBF Secretary Tariq Rasheed Khan said on Saturday.
He said PBF President Rehana Saigol, who is currently on a private trip to India, would meet the Indian Bridge Federation for the proposed event. He said the PBF had proposed to hold the event on a rotational basis with its first edition in Lahore on Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14 and Indian Independence Day on August 15.
“The PBF has suggested New Delhi and Mumbai as the venues for the 2005 Friendship Cup and offered Indians free board and lodging for 24 players during their stay in Lahore,” he added. “The PBF has also proposed to hold a pair tournament while on the second day a team event can be staged,” he concluded. —APP
